Oregon’s Wild Harvest Combines Two of Nature’s Best Herbs in New Cognitive Support Product

REDMOND, Oregon - March 1, 2018

Stress, depression and associated mental health problems have increased tremendously in modern times.  Oregon's Wild Harvest's newest herbal combination supplement, Ashwagandha Ginkgo, provides something just about everyone can use today - support for a calm and focused mind.*

Oregon's Wild Harvest New Organic Ashwagandha Ginkgo 90ct capsules

This cognitive-enhancing supplement contains certified organic Ashwagandha root and a clinically studied dose of Ginkgo leaf powder extract, and is free from excipients, stearates and binders. Ashwagandha Ginkgo is now available in 90-count bottles (MSRP $24.95).

We see this as a type of yin-yang combination, it’s very balancing and these are two supportive herbs taken together,” said Randy Buresh, R.N., co-founder of Oregon’s Wild Harvest. “The Ginkgo is the ‘yang’ in that it supports the nervous system and the mental function. This means it enhances brain activity. And the Ayurvedic and antioxidant-rich herb Ashwagandha is the ‘yin’, a calming adaptogen and supportive co-pilot.”

A study done at the Department of Pharmacology, University of Texas Health Science Center indicated that extracts of Ashwagandha produce GABA-like activity, which may account for the herb's calming effects.1 This relaxing effect is balancing to the anti-GABA activity from Ginkgo.

In addition, the brain is an organ that uses a massive amount of blood, oxygen and nutrition.

Ginkgo’s antioxidant properties help with that exchange of nutrition and oxygen to support healthy aging and function of the brain. Getting nutrition in and toxins out. Brain-derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF) is a protein produced inside nerve cells and acts as a type of fertilizer to maintain optimal brain function. Aging brains have less of this protein. Fortunately, both Ashwagandha and Ginkgo have been shown to increase BDNF in the brain.²
