 Adam Buresh  Farm Manager
 Oregon's Wild Harvest - Adam

Adam has grown up on the Biodynamic® farm, learning the business literally and figuratively from the ground up. He can prep a field, plant, harvest, wildcraft, and repair machinery and equipment. He currently also works on farm projections and is working toward his Master Herbalist Certificate. Not surprisingly, Adam has a "bit of a green thumb."

When not working on the Biodynamic® farm, Adam enjoys coaching his daughter's soccer team, riding his street bike, and camping and hiking with the family. He enjoys an eclectic mix of music as well, and lives by the motto "No regrets."

Adam's favorite organic herbs come in products like Immune Booster Tea, which is especially helpful during the cold and flu season, and Aller-Aid with Freeze Dried Nettles to manage those hay fever symptoms. His cabinet is never without Milk Thistle either. " It's great for keeping the liver good and clean," he says.

Having been around since the beginning, Adam can say with authority and confidence that "Oregon's Wild Harvest is a company that always has and always will put the consumer first -- producing only the highest quality products."

In addition to working as a professional botanist, Bill has worked as an air pollution scientist for more than twenty years.

When asked what sets Oregon's Wild Harvest apart from other companies, he says he believes it's the commitment to certainty of plants being used in products and the dedication to validated scientific research that makes Oreogn's Wild Harvest unique.

Bill enjoys gardening (no surprise there!), cooking, and keying out plants in his own laboratory. He is also an avid reader, and enjoys blues music, Bob Dylan and Steely Dan.

Jo Roberts  Research & Development Director  Oregon's Wild Harvest - Jo

Jo extensively researches the certified organic herbs grown at Oregon's Wild Harvest and also the published studies of those organic herbs. Using this knowledge, she determines which organic herbs to use in new formulas, and oversees the development of those formulas - a long process at Oregon's Wild Harvest due to our attention to detail. Jo also provides technical details to our sales and marketing staff, and also to customers who call with questions about our certified organic herbs, supplements, bulk herbs, herbal teas, spices, extracts and herb oils. Additionally, Jo writes research proposals to agencies that provide grants for research. She's worked at Oregon's Wild Harvest for the past ten years.

Jo has a Biochemistry degree from the University of Nottingham, England.  With thirteen years of experience in the dietary supplement industry, including 10 years as quality control manager in the manufacturing sector, Jo is particularly experienced in the areas of compliance, formulation, and analytical quality control techniques.  Jo's work has appeared in the recently published book "Traditional Medicines for Modern Times" edited by Amala Soumyanath. (2006)

When not buried in research, Jo loves yoga, cooking, nature hikes, gardening, and a wide variety of music. Currently in her CD-Changer are: Manu Chao, World music (Spanish and Flamenco), Grateful Dead, Elvis Costello and Billy Brag.

Her most memorable "reading for pleasure moments" include George Orwell's "1984", The Kite Runner, Don Quixote, and the Bhagavad Gita. I also love many of the quotes of Gandhi, especially "Whenever you are confronted with an opponent. Conquer him with love"

Jo's favorite organic herb is Oregon's Wild harvest's Valerian, "because it stops me worrying about my "to do" list at bedtime! I also love the Milk Thistle and St John's Wort capsules."

Jo enjoys her work at Oregon's Wild Harvest in part because "I find it so refreshing that the management at Oregon's Wild Harvest truly supports my quality decisions as an advocate for our customers. In a nutshell they have integrity and a passion for the quality of the herbs they produce."

Having spent the first 22 years of her life in England, and meeting her (American) husband in Spain while teaching there, Jo has been enough places to truly appreciate where she is in life, both figuratively and literally.

Jose Luis Hernandez Avalos  Production Operator  Oregon's Wild Harvest - Jose

Jose's expertise is operating the encapsulation machine and milling equipment.

When he's not working, Jose enjoys playing with his children, and reading. "When I begin a book, I usually can't put it down until I'm finished." His favorite books are Twilight, New Moon, Eclipse and Breaking Dawn.

He says he enjoys working in the plant in part because he loves the smell of the fresh organic herbs - especially Valerian and Cinnamon!  "It's also a beautiful place to work."

Jose believes that the eyes are the mirror of our soul, and that it's not hard to learn something new every day.

 Kellie Gordon  Marketing Writer
Oregon's Wild Harvest - Kellie

Kellie's job is to write about Oregon's Wild Harvest products in such a way that effectively conveys to the world just how incredible the company really is. Since there is no rival for personal experience with the products, she finds that words sometimes fall short. [It pains her to say that too, because she loves words. She loves language. But there are some things so amazing you have to experience them to fully appreciate them. It might just be that Oregon's Wild Harvest's organic herbs are among those things.]

Still....she tries. She creates copy for the website, brochures, ads, posters, labels, boxes, and so on. And every now and then, she almost does a product justice. Almost.

In addition to a passion for writing, Kellie has a Bachelor's degree in English and fifteen years experience being paid to put words on paper and screen. She has been writing for Oregon's Wild Harvest for two years, during which she's learned a great deal about alternative medicine.

Kellie's family enjoys many Oregon's Wild Harvest products, but her favorite products are Stress Guard and Skullcap. She says that Stress Guard keeps her on a more even keel during particularly hectic times, and that there is nothing quite like a couple of Skullcap after a long, gruelling day, to help her relax and unwind. She finds Skullcap to be an aptly named product too, because "it's like a soothing little cap for your skull (your worries, your mind)." She compares the effect to a glass or two of red wine. Minus the headache.

When not tapping away on her laptop, trying to come up with the perfect word or phrase, Kellie and her husband enjoy games of SkipBo with their two daughters, taking pictures of them, and spending time on the Oregon Coast. Her family also includes a sweet puppy named Bailey, and a cat named Risa, the latter of which she could not live with were it not for Aller-Aid.

Laura's favorite herb is Oregon's Wild Harvest Rhodiola, because it "gives me the get-up-and-go I need."

Laura believes Oregon's Wild Harvest is a "company that truly cares - about the employees that work here to the environment and every person who uses our products."

Quote to live by: Don't judge each day by the harvest you reap, but by the seeds that you plant.

Ruta Wells  Inside Sales Representative  Oregon's Wild Harvest - Ruta

If ever you have reason to call Oregon's Wild Harvest, it is Ruta's voice you will likely find on the other end of the phone. She spends her days talking to Oregon's Wild Harvest customers and store owners, and, as she says, "spreading the word about our good organic herbs across the United States of America."

When not on the phone, Ruta enjoys gardening, playing guitar and writing songs, taking care of the chickens, listening to Celtic music, and trying to cook gourmet dishes.

Ruta enjoys daily early morning walks with her dog, Obi Wan. Her favorite books include Emily Bronte's Wuthering Heights and Anne Rice's Witching Hour.

Ruta finds it impossible to narrow her favorite Oregon's Wild Harvest product down to just one: Holy Basil, Dong Quai, EPO, Milk Thistle, Holy Basil Tea, Ashwagandha can all be found in her cabinet "because they work for me and give me a sense of balance."

Her motto: Change is inevitable. And "Patience is a virtue. I know everything happens according to nature's schedule. We can't speed it up or slow it down; we can only work within its constraints."

Ruta enjoys her work at Oregon's Wild Harvest because "we are here for one reason and that is to provide the very best herbal medicine for humankind."
