Lemon Balm is native to Europe and still very popular there.  It Is often combined with relaxing herbs such as Valerian. Several studies concur that topical ointments containing Lemon Balm may help reduce redness and swelling in lip sores associated with herpes simplex virus (HSV).

Belonging to the mint family, this herb makes a wonderfully refreshing tea. This flavorful herb has a great flavor in fish or chicken and vegetable dishes, when added towards the end of the cooking time.
