Background and Use
In Spanish, Cascara Sagrada means "sacred bark," perhaps because of its effectiveness. Cascara has been used by Native Americans and Spanish and Mexican priests since the 1800s.
Contraindications
Do not use any Cascara product if you have abdominal pain, inflammatory bowel disease, ulcers, diarrhea or other gastrointestinal disease including cancer, Crohn's Disease or ulcerative colitis. Discontinue use in the event of cramping, diarrhea or watery stools. Do not exceed recommended dosage unless under the guidance of a health care professional.
