Background and Use

Rose Hips are one of the richest plant sources of Vitamin C.  During World War II in England a syrup made using Rose Hips was made and given to children as a Vitamin C source. They were also for herbal tea, jam, jelly, beverages, pies, bread, and marmalade.

Precautions

Concerns for this spice are based upon therapeutic use and may not be relevant to its consumption as a culinary seasoning. Not recommended for use while pregnant or nursing, until further research verifies no contraindications.
