Suggested Use

Background and Use
Native to the western states, Lomatium has been used by many Native American tribes. Historical sources report that it was used during the influenza pandemic of 1917 with positive results. Also known as biscuit root because of its large root, many native people highly valued this herb as was documented by Lewis and Clark as they were offered the roots when trading with the Shoshone people.
Lomatium was also used as a ceremonial agent and was highly regarded for its spiritual potency, burned by the Blackfoot as an incense, and taken internally by Navaho dancers for the 'mountain top dance'
