Lavandin/Lavender has been used cosmetically and medicinally throughout history. Presently, Lavandin/Lavender is used worldwide in aromatherapy, cooking, candles, cosmetics, detergents, perfumes, skin care products and teas.

Many people find Lavandin/Lavender aromatherapy to be relaxing - linen bags containing Lavandin/Lavender flowers were commonly placed under pillows for their alleged sleep-inducing properties. This is hard to prove scientifically because it is impossible to have a placebo controlled study in an aromatherapy trial.
