Cinnamon has been very valuable historically due to its numerous properties and uses. It has played key roles in nutrition, medicine and even in religion, causing it to be the most sought-after spice during the peak of the spice trading era. Ceylon (now Sri Lanka) was the only country that cultivated true Cinnamon at the time. Since Cinnamon was the most desired spice, Sri Lanka was fought over and conquered by many European nations during the 17th Century spice trade era.
Concerns for this spice are based upon therapeutic use and may not be relevant to its consumption as a culinary seasoning. Keep out of reach of children. Do not use if pregnant. Not recommended for use while nursing, until further research verifies no contraindications. Discontinue if unusual symptoms occur. Do not exceed recommended dose unless under the guidance of a health care professional. Consult with your health care professional if taking prescribed medication to control blood sugar levels.
