Background and Use

The consumption of Beets is prevalent in Eastern Europe and Russia where the popular soup, Borscht, is derived. This nutritious vegetable has been investigated for properties beyond that of a culinary root. Beets have been used for many years as a source of betanin (a natural red food coloring). This is a natural compound that is part of a family known as betalains. Recently, the antioxidant properties of these phytonutrients have recently been studied.

Certified organic Beet root is a valuable source of the antioxidant betanin, which gives Beets their characteristic pigmentation, and supply fiber that is naturally present in this nutritious root.

Beet cultivation is often associated with heavy pesticide use due to its tendency to be prone to pests. Since Beet is a root crop, the pesticides can accumulate during the long growing period.

This product provides the beneficial fiber that is naturally present in Beets, and is NOT an extract juice product.

WARNING: Consumption of large quantities of Beets can make both urine and stools turn red.  Keep out of reach of children. Discontinue if unusual symptoms occur.
