Maca Smoothie

This recipe incorporates the South American root, Maca, and is aptly flavored with Cocoa and Cinnamon- also originating from South America. I love the ancient combination of the Cinnamon and Cocoa, which provide potent antioxidant support. This is a very healthy beverage for you or your loved ones, including your children.

Ingredients

  • 10 oz. Almond or Hemp milk
  • 1 Banana
  • 2 tablespoons Plain or Vanilla yogurt
  • 1 tablespoon Cocoa powder
  • 1 tablespoon Maca powder
  • 1/2 tablespoon Agave syrup (or to taste)
  • Pinch of Cinnamon powder

Mix ingredients in a blender. If the smoothie is to be consumed immediately, I sometimes add 1 tablespoon of Psyllium powder. This is a great way to add more fiber to the diet, and helps keep the snacking urges at bay.
