These simple remedies are quick, easy and effective. They both use Calendula - an ingredient that is often used in baby products because of its gentle healing properties. Calendula oil is useful for dry and damaged skin, skin inflammations, rashes and other skin problems.
The first step is to make the universal calendula oil and then use it in the remedies below. The oil lasts a long time, especially if stored in the refrigerator. Just don't drink it!

To make an infused oil, low heat and long infusion time is preferable. I use a crockpot, however but an electric roaster is better since they have an even lower temperature setting.
Simply apply the oil directly to the rash and let the herb work its wonders. This also works for mild diaper rash. It is best if left on overnight.
This is an oily secretion that forms on the child's head as a crusty "cap". Generally washing the scalp with diluted castile soap twice a week will keep it at bay. Sometimes extra steps are required.
