It may technically still be summer, but there is definitely a touch of fall in the air. As the sun moves south, the days are quickly becoming shorter, and the afternoon shadows are becoming longer.
We are harvesting our final crop of Echinacea flower tops right now, with most of it going into the dryer. The most recent plant material we harvested has already been dried, powdered and put into our encapsulated herbs -- one of the many benefits to manufacturing just steps away from the farm itself.
Twenty very healthy and active bee hives are producing quite a bit of honey -- and we're processing that right now on the farm as well. It won't be long before we begin to harvest our root crops of Echincea, Dandelion, Astragalus, and Ashwagandha.
All is well on the farm -- we're as busy as the bees! We should have plenty of our summer's bounty to take us through the long winter months ahead.
