Gymnema
Most studies have associated a saponin fraction containing a mixture of "gymnemic acids" with the activity of this plant. We have calculated that the extracts used in clinical trials contained between 100- 200mg gymnemic acids daily (derived from 400-800 mg daily dose of a standardized extract that is standardized to only 25% gymnemic acid). This product contains about 110 mg of gymnemic acid derived from the 75% gymnemic acid standardized extract, but also provides the whole leaf to supply the additional gymnemic acids.
