About Us

Oregon's Wild Harvest is an independently owned and operated herb farm located in Sandy, Oregon. We have been Oregon Tilth® Certified Organic since our inception in 1994, and Demeter® Certified Biodynamic since 2009. Attaining this Biodynamic® certification was a two year process and it's considered the highest grade of organic agriculture, as well as the most sustainable farming method. Currently, Demeter® is the only certifier world-wide that can offer certification to Biodynamic® farmers.

In addition to OWH's prestigious certifications, we continues to follow USDA organic guidelines and strict FDA guidelines for growing, processing and manufacturing premium herbal supplements and products. The owners, Randy Buresh and Pam Martin-Buresh, have built OWH with a strong belief that in order to safely heal the body with herbs certain ideals need to be firmly in place:

  1. Environmental stewardship
  2. Validated scientific methodology
  3. Pioneered standards of production quality

By having these ideals play such a fundamental role in the structure of the company, OWH can properly grow, process and retain the essential properties of premium quality whole herbs -the kind used in traditional Western, Chinese medicine and Ayurvedic medicine. Our use of these herbs has helped to keep the people, and its planet, healthy for many thousands of years.

Over time, Oregon's Wild Harvest has evolved from a two person operation, to running a state of the art production facility and warehouse. This kind of expansion has helped give us a steady rate of growth each year.

The entire farm continues to support a wide variety of hand-harvested whole organic and Biodynamic® traditional medicinal herbs like: Ashwagandha, Astragalus, Echinacea, Ginkgo and Valerian. The farm also houses its own processing and production facilities. This includes an in-house, scientist controlled, Quality Control Lab, which tests each herb up to 3 individual times (including the raw material and finished product). This department also oversees every step of the processing, manufacturing and production of each herb. Working strictly from whole herbs and having a department as unique as this allows us to not only guarantee purity, but also identify and verify all plant material.

Currently, OWH has hundreds of different products in stores across the nation. These products include herbal supplements made with NP vegetarian capsules, which are gluten-free, GMO-Free, artificial additive-free and preservative-free(includes specialty blends that are condition specific). Our entire line also includes bulk (whole, cut, sift and powder) herbs, culinary herbs and spices, herbal extracts (some alcohol-free), herbal teas, herb oils, topical herb applications (oils and salves) and specialized (alcohol-free) formulas for children, men and women.

With safety being such a high priority, the labels on our products always provide potential contraindications, drug interactions and herb allergy information. Some common conditions that these products support include the cardiovascular system, digestive tract and liver, immune system, mind, normal inflammation response and seasonal respiratory. OWH products can be purchased in many natural food stores or online here. Each product is also packaged and shipped using the highest level of recyclable material possible.

Although we do grow herbs on our Biodynamic® farm, we also purchase additional herbs from a few organic farms in the northwest, Canada and overseas. A vast majority are from certified organic farms in the Pacific Northwest, but for those that do not grow well in this part of the world, we do import from other places. When this is the case, Oregon's Wild Harvest does its best to ensure that the people growing their herbs receive a fair price for their efforts. Once we purchase herbs from our partners, they are always thoroughly tested to ensure their quality meets OWH's extremely high standards. These partners must also share our commitment to sustainable organic agribusiness and supporting local farms.
